Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming action-thriller King is undoubtedly one of the most awaited films of 2026. However, recent developments may momentarily dampen the excitement. During the filming of an intense action sequence at Golden Tobacco Studio in Mumbai, SRK reportedly suffered an injury. While the exact nature of the injury hasn’t been disclosed, sources close to the production confirmed it to be a muscular strain—likely the result of accumulated stress from years of performing stunts.

The actor has now flown to the United States for specialized medical care. Though not a major injury, doctors have advised him complete rest for at least a month. Consequently, the film’s shooting schedule—planned across various locations including Film City and YRF Studios—has been put on hold. All bookings through July and August have been cancelled, with production now expected to resume in September or October.

King, directed by Sujoy Ghosh, features a star-studded cast including Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Deepika Padukone, Arshad Warsi, Anil Kapoor, and Suhana Khan. Touted as one of the biggest ensemble action films in recent years, it was initially aiming for a Gandhi Jayanti 2026 release. With the current pause, there’s a possibility of the release date being pushed.

As fans send best wishes for SRK’s speedy recovery, the hope remains strong that he will return to the set with renewed energy and charisma, delivering yet another unforgettable performance in King.
